From Australia: Food For Thought
A wildlife rescue officer says glue is better than stitches when it comes to mending the torn wings of flying foxes.
Lenaire Keatch, from Katherine in the Northern Territory, says the bat wings of flying foxes mend like skin on a human.
She says there are a lot more bats around for this time of year, particularly around the Tindal RAAF base, just outside Katherine.
Ms Keatch says the glue doesn't usually stop the bats from flying.
"If there's an extensive area that's damaged, they can have some scar tissue, but they tend to manage to balance themselves out after a bit of practice."
